Try it: read your passport or ID card
CodeB Wallet reads the chip of your document over NFC, and the CodeB server checks that it is genuine. You see the result and the data read from the chip on this page. No account, no sign-in: the data stays in the server’s memory for at most 30 minutes and is then deleted. Only a technical record without personal data is kept.

Start a reading
- You need CodeB Wallet on an Android phone with NFC switched on: get it on Google Play.
- Press “Start a reading”. On the phone, open the link; on a computer, scan the code with the phone’s camera.
- In the wallet, scan the machine-readable zone (MRZ: the lines with <<< on your passport or ID card) with the phone’s camera – or type in the six-digit card access number (CAN) printed on your ID card. Then hold the document to the back of the phone until the reading is done.
- The result appears on this page.
No CodeB Wallet yet? Install it first. On a computer, scan the code with your phone’s camera.
