What you need
An Android phone with Android 10 or newer.
NFC for reading passports and ID cards, signing with signature cards and using access cards – most Android phones have it.
Android 14 or newer for passkeys and pseudonyms.
GrapheneOS on a Pixel (Pixel 6 or newer) works too: keep the bootloader locked and install Google Play in GrapheneOS’s sandbox to get the beta. More about GrapheneOS.
What to expect
CodeB Wallet is an independent wallet – not government-issued and not certified. Documents from the CodeB issuer, such as the PID, are test credentials.
Some functions are still being tested; your feedback to info@aloaha.com helps.
Questions about the beta
Is the CodeB Wallet beta free?
Yes. Joining the beta and using the app are free.
Which e-mail address should I give?
The address of the Google account you use in the Play Store on your Android phone – Google Play only lets that account install the beta.
Does CodeB Wallet work on iPhone?
Not as an app yet: CodeB Wallet is an Android app. On an iPhone? Use the CodeB web wallet in Safari. It works today, until the CodeB Wallet app is available for iPhone: phone.codeb.io/web-wallet.html.
Does CodeB Wallet work on GrapheneOS?
Yes – on Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 onwards, with the bootloader locked. CodeB Wallet checks your phone through its secure hardware, which GrapheneOS fully supports; Google’s Play Integrity is not needed. To get the beta, install Google Play in GrapheneOS’s sandbox and join with that Google account. Other Android systems need a locked bootloader with verified boot as well – phones with an unlocked bootloader or root access are refused, to protect your identity. Using GrapheneOS? Tell us how it works for you: info@aloaha.com. More about GrapheneOS.
